I recently retired from headship in a Church of England primary school in the Midlands, so this is a welcome opportunity to reflect on the centrality of ‘good RE’ to my career as a class teacher, RE specialist and head teacher. For me, firm subject knowledge, people and partnerships and courageous leadership have made the difference.
