On reflection

A strategic approach to research in RE

We hear a lot about research-informed teaching. However, as James Robson points out here, in reality teachers have little opportunity – for the reasons he so clearly points out – to engage with research, although that is a major purpose of Professional REflection in REtoday. However, in a climate where politicians seemingly see teaching as merely a craft and universities place pressure on academic staff to publish in highlyrated academic journals, the work being undertaken by James and his colleagues is of vital importance.
