In the Autumn 2021 edition of REtoday, my NATRE Executive colleague Neil McKain wrote about the controversy surrounding the use of a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad in an RE lesson (see ‘Je suis RE teacher’, REtoday, 39 (1)). I support his call for us to open up as a subject community and engage with the issues raised by the incident.
