I met Jain monk and environmental activist Satish Kumar at Schumacher College in Devon. We needed to meet a bit earlier than planned because it was Satish’s evening to cook. I asked how many he was cooking for. ‘Sixty to 70 people’ was his casual reply. As an icon of environmental activism and spiritual leadership he is down to earth, approachable, friendly and engaged. At the age of 81 he shows no signs of slowing down!
