It was amazing in the summer that tens of thousands of young poets from hundreds of schools entered our Spirited Poetry competition. NATRE felt that in order to properly judge the poems we needed a ‘real poet’ on the judging panel, so we invited Paul Cookson, accomplished poet and performer, to join the panel. Here he reflects some of his thoughts about the poems, and offers ideas about how to use poetry in RE lessons.
