Most people think that the new Ofsted framework for inspecting schools with its emphasis on the quality of the curriculum is a good thing. Reportedly there have already been positives for RE in that if a school is not offering good RE then its Quality of Education grade may well be ‘Requires improvement’. So we now see courses offered to teachers and leaders on ‘intent’, ‘implementation’ and ‘impact’. Wrangling with designing an effective and appropriate curriculum is nothing new to excellent practitioners, such as the current NATRE Chair.
