Knowledge, cleverness and wisdom: new models for assessing pupils’ progress in RE

Benjamin Hoff (author of The Tao of Pooh, 1982) has a warning that I think applies to all those involved in planning any educational enterprise: ‘Those who have no compassion have no wisdom. Knowledge, yes; cleverness, maybe; wisdom, no. A clever mind is not a heart. Knowledge doesn't really care. Wisdom does.’
