RE as personal development in a digital age

As Editor I have openly expressed my desire to provide a platform for beginning teachers to get involved in research and writing for journals such as this. Below is a contribution from somebody who, at the time of writing, was a newly qualified teacher who, as a PGCE student, gave evidence to the RE Commission. The idea of RE contributing to personal development has been a constant for decades but has come under some scrutiny (rightly, in many ways) recently. Here, Caitlin Wilson tackles this issue head-on in the context of many recent report expressing concern over young people’s mental health.
