Following the publication in 2018 of the final report of the Commission on RE (CoRE), there has been a gradual change of focus in thinking about the nature and purpose of RE. Teachers are inevitably preoccupied with issues of curriculum content and pedagogy: what do I teach? When? How do I teach it? How do I assess it? There is little time and, perhaps, motivation to explore the possibilities of the new vision for RE and the implications of the introduction of worldviews, or to consider how the identification and organisation of spaces both inside schools and in communities may
affect the experience of learning. Given these pressures, books that motivate busy practitioners to dip into the work of a range of authors notable for their contributions to the field of religious education are to be welcomed.
