Teaching Trinity: big concept, creative approach

Liz Johnson teaches RE at Our Lady of Pity, a Catholic primary school on the Wirral, where there is a unique behaviour policy of no rewards, no sanctions. It is a policy which mirrors the school’s mission statement of ‘Joy through Respect’, encouraging learners to live with open hearts to the teachings of Jesus. She shares how pupils learned about values and beliefs in RE, with the example of the difficult concept of the Trinity, taught to 6-7 year olds.
