The power of virtual trips

In defining ‘powerful knowledge’, Michael Young describes it as taking students beyond their direct experience of the world. Fortunately, in RE this is something we do almost without thought – if we teach more than one religion or worldview then we are, by definition, going to take students beyond their everyday lived experience of faith. We take our students to ideas, concepts, beliefs and stories that challenge how they
view the world and give them insight into the questions others ask and the answers they find.
