It would be difficult to believe that anyone reading this is not thoroughly familiar with, or at least aware of, the report from the Commission on RE published in September 2018. After all the publicity and commenting on this, it is perhaps time to reflect on its impact so far, which has not been huge, although the news about bursaries and subject knowledge enhancement courses is good. Here, Joyce Miller, one of the commissioners but writing in a personal capacity, reflects on some of the key areas that need our attention and addresses key misconceptions and misinterpretations in the context of a subject under threat from several angles.
